1. What Is the Spain Digital Nomad Visa?
The Spain DNV allows non‑EU nationals to live in Spain while working remotely for non‑Spanish companies or clients. It's designed for:
- Freelancers and independent contractors
- Remote employees of foreign companies
- Business owners servicing clients outside Spain
The visa can be granted as:
1 Year
Visa (from a consulate)
3 Years
Residence authorization (from within Spain)
2. Where Can You Apply?
You may apply either:
- From a Spanish consulate abroad
- From within Spain while legally present (tourist visa or visa‑free entry)

TIE, Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero
The physical residence card. Obtained after approval, in Spain only.
- Requires fingerprinting at a police station
- Issued approximately 30–40 days after fingerprints
